AIDA4Edge Webinar on Knowledge Commercialization Successfully Held

On March 27, 2026, the AIDA4Edge project organized a webinar on commercialization of knowledge, bringing together experts from academia and innovation ecosystems to exchange experiences and best practices in transforming research results into real-world impact.

The webinar featured three insightful presentations addressing different dimensions of knowledge commercialization:

Andre van Schaik (University of Manchester) shared over two decades of experience in founding university spin-out companies, offering valuable insights into the challenges and lessons learned in translating research into innovative products and services .

Angela Princi and Arianna Casarini (University of Ferrara) presented the role of the Technopole and Technology Transfer Office in knowledge valorization, highlighting their contribution within the broader European framework of innovation and entrepreneurship .

Aleksandra Ristić (Science and Technology Park Niš) discussed how structured support programs help bridge the gap between research and market adoption, emphasizing initiatives such as the S4AI hub and Launcher accelerator in fostering sustainable AI solutions .

The webinar emphasized that successful knowledge commercialization requires a coordinated approach involving academia, industry, and support institutions, along with effective mechanisms for technology transfer, validation, and scaling of innovations.

The webinar also featured active contributions from both project partners and an AIDA4Edge stakeholder, the Science and Technology Park Niš, whose participation highlighted the active role of stakeholders in supporting the commercialization and real-world uptake of research results.

The webinar contributed to strengthening knowledge exchange and supporting the exploitation and commercialization of research results in line with Horizon Europe priorities.
