Research Culture Day at the University of Manchester – September 26, 2025

As part of the short-term visit of the University of Niš team to the University of Manchester, which focused on research management and administration, we participated in a wonderfully organized Research Culture Day. The discussions were particularly valuable for all of us, especially for the two members of the RMU unit, Sofija Perić and Nikola Vučić, from FEEUNI who attended.

Rachel Cowen and Vidyadhar Peesapati from the University of Manchester, School of Engineering, presented theEDI Strategy and Athena Swan Progress and Actions, highlighting the University’s continuous efforts to promote gender equality, diversity, and inclusion within the research environment.

The session encouraged an open discussion on building a positive and supportive research culture that values collaboration, transparency, and well-being. Participants also shared insights into how institutional initiatives can strengthen the overall research ecosystem and foster excellence through inclusion.

Prof. Davide Bertozzi and a colleague from the Research Lifecycle Program at the University of Manchester delivered a presentation titled “Supporting the Research Lifecycle: How Research Management Tools Are Used at The University of Manchester.” The session provided valuable insights into the tools, processes, and best practices that support the entire research lifecycle at the university.
